For grades 2- 4 I start by showing the children how I create my illustrations. I currently work from the Alison Lohans books. I follow by reading a chapter from the book and having the children suggest the illustrations they would use in that chapter. I then have the children make their own mini books (containing passages from Alison’s stories) and illustrate them.

I work with groups of up to 30 kids (a class).
I donate a copy of one of my books to the school library.*
The presentation takes about 1 hour.

For grades 4 - 6 The same as for the lower grades, but with a more complicated book binding process.

For grades 6 -8 I do a 2-2.5 hour session of book binding. I provide book making kits for each student and take them through the process of creating their own books.

Book kits are 7.50 each and contain all parts of the book as well as tools needed to make the book.

Tools are returned to me. Schools provide glue sticks. The session costs $200.00. Travel expenses negotiated.
